A Legacy of Innovation in Ultrapure Water Analysis

Martek Instruments, Inc. is a family-owned and operated company with a rich history spanning over 50 years. Founded in 1968 by Oscar Zabarsky in Newport Beach, California, Martek began its journey as a manufacturer of environmental water quality analysis instruments.

In 1979, Martek pioneered the use of microprocessor technology in ultrapure water conductivity analyzers, specifically designed for power generation applications. This marked a significant shift and laid the foundation for the company's future specialization.

David Zabarsky joined Martek in 1986, taking the helm as General Manager of Operations in 1988. In 1993, David assumed ownership and relocated operations to Raleigh, North Carolina, solidifying Martek's focus solely on ultrapure water analysis within the power generation industry.

Today, Martek celebrates three generations of the Zabarsky family actively involved in the company. In 2023, Rebekah Zabarsky joined as Marketing Director, continuing the legacy of innovation and dedication to providing exceptional ultrapure water analysis solutions.

Martek Instruments remains committed to its core values of quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction, constantly striving to push the boundaries of technology in the field of ultrapure water analysis.

About our Technology

The ability to collect, process, and transmit real-time data to system operators make the products Martek supplies ideal for monitoring high purity water environments such as nuclear and fossil fuel power plants, condensate polishing systems and demineralizers, semiconductor and pharmaceutical manufacturing plants, and other industrial applications.

Today, Martek manufacturers not only its own line of ultrapure water quality systems from its Raleigh, North Carolina facility, but offers products and accessories from well-known companies to meet the needs of the scientific and commercial communities. Monitored parameters include:

  • Temperature
  • Conductivity (Specific, Cation, Degassed)
  • pH / ORP
  • Sodium

Backing these products is a highly-trained staff eager to listen and dedicated to providing expert advice and answers to plant operators.
