"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...."

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way – in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only." A Tale of Two Cities, Charles Dickens

Charles Dickens' story relates the events leading up to the French Revolution and culminating in the rise of the Jacobin Reign of Terror. After experiencing the events of this tumultuous year, one can easily believe Mr. Dickens is describing today's current political and cultural state in the U.S. rather than 18th Century France.

Still, regardless of turmoil or peace, prosperity or poverty, Life does go on. And so do we.

As we approach the end of this year and the beginning of the New Year, we want to thank our employees, our marketing partners, our vendors, and, of course, our customers for their continued support in helping Martek Instruments accomplish what we have always striven to do: Providing valuable analytical instrumentation and expertise for water quality analysis.

May everyone enjoy a Happy Chanukah, a Merry Christmas, and a Joyous New Year!
