Volume 2 Issue number 3
Yes, but can you get me tickets to the Indy 500?

We're happy to announce that one of our representatives has opened a new office to better serve our customers. Process Solutions, Inc. has established another office in Indianapolis that specifically covers Southern Indiana and Western Kentucky. The new address is:

Process Solutions, Inc.
5221 Ivy Tech Dr. Suite 106 Indianapolis, IN 46206
(317) 876-9723
Fax (317) 876-9548

The office is managed by Michael Giacomelli who knows quite a bit about water treatment, instrumentation, and the Indy 500.

And, to paraphrase the U.S.M.C. recruiting poster: "We're looking for a few good men (and women!)" to skillfully represent our products and services throughout the U.S. and Canada. If you know someone who is dedicated to customer support and satisfaction, please give us a call.
Pass me a Cactus Cooler, will ya?
Last July, Martek attended the Fourth Annual Southwest Chemistry Workshop in Farmington, New Mexico. Sponsored by Arizona Public Service Co. and Public Service Co. of New Mexico, the Workshop was at-tended by utility personnel as well as vendor representatives.

We'd like to thank Mike DeField of PNM and Dave Clifton of APS for organizing the event and allowing us the opportunity to present our paper on "A Simple Validation Method for Ultrapure Conductivity & pH Measurements".

The Basics.
As utilities continue to down-size in an effort to keep up with de-regulation, we see a number of qualified personnel leaving the power generating industry and being replaced by younger, less exerienced personnel.

The articles we publish try to present new ideas as well as review existing technology. In this way, we hope to educate both the seasoned veteran as well as the "new kid on the block".

Sometimes, getting back to basic theory, chemistry, or sensor design can help re-focus us on the problems we may be experiencing with our water treatment systems.

In this issue of the Monitor, we are pleased to feature a guest article by a recognized manufacturer of pH sensors. We hope the information provided will shed some light on a subject considered by some to be more of an art than a science.
